N.C.S.A. Membership Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, May 16th at 2:00 PM. Our next Directors meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 6th, at 7:00 PM. 2010 Meeting dates are posted online at www.ncsaonline.org.

Tuesday Work Party Spring is here and as you know it means the facility must been given due attention to provide a safe and enjoyable 2010 shooting season. The Archery, Outdoor Pistol, Trap, Plinking and Rifle Range will all need attention and repair work following the winter’s effects. Members accumulating 10 hours of work time will reduce there membership dues by $20.00. If Tuesday at 6pm is not convenient, you can arrange a different work time to accommodate your schedule by contacting Elmer at 731-4535

NEW THIS YEAR AT NCSA Our Long Range Handgun Match is being held on Saturdays at 12:00 PM on Apr 24th, May 22, Jun 26, Jul 24, Aug 21, Sep 25 and Oct 9. The match fee is $1.00, use your Thompson Contender, Encore, Remington XP 100, Wichita Arms, Wildey, Savage Arms, Magnum Research, H-S Precision, Anschutz, the MOA Maximum or any Handgun with a barrel length not exceeding 15 inch that can print a group you can boast about, improve your hand loads, tune up your shooting skills or develop that energy packed round to drop that quarry in its tracks. You will fire at 100 yards using the SR-3C, 300 yard target. Three shooting disciplines will be allowed, Benchrest, Offhand, or Shooting Sticks, you can use one discipline or a combination of any two. You will be allowed 10 minuets for sighters, the line will then be declared safe to repair targets. Followed by your first string of ten rounds fired in 20 minuets (First Target) The line will then be declared safe so scoring can be done down range. When scoring is completed and shooters have returned, the line will be declared no longer safe and you will fire your second string of ten rounds in 20 minuets (Second Target). Match dates are posted in the schedule below, in the monthly calendar and online. Tip, Show up early, or you’ll end up being a spectator.

EMPIRE STATE GAMES NCSA will host the ESG tryouts on Saturday, June 5th 2010. In an effort to host the tryouts we must close both the Outdoor Pistol and Plinking Range from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. In addition the Indoor Pistol Range will also be closed for ESG Air Pistol tryouts throughout the afternoon. NCSA will also be hosting ESG Shooting competition in July with dates to be announced. 900 Pistol Match The 900 Match has moved to Wednesday evenings and started April 21st with signup at 5:30 PM and the match starting at 6 PM. There is a $2.00 fee for the Match, an optional $1.00 (Share the Wealth drawing) and an optional $1.00 Mega (I’ll Take It All) drawing. A buffet at season’s end will be planed for those who wish to attend. The match consists of: 2 slow fire targets, 1 National Match (slow, timed, and rapid) 2 timed fire targets and 2 rapid fire targets, 90 rounds with a .22 caliber semi automatic pistol or a caliber of your choice.

An email I received from a member, read I went to the Mastercast Bullet Company website looking for information on reloads for my .40 S&W Carbine. I couldn't believe their cheap prices, $9.33 per 50 180 gr. TCJ/FP, 7.00 per 50 180 gr. cast (spent cases must be sent with order). I can't reload for that. I called and the secretary said: "this is how it works: send cases in USPS Priority small box ($4.70) with order and copy of driver's license. I will call you, and you give me a credit card and other payment info."  I had 350 cases, so I did what she said. Three days later she called me, five days later I had my ammo. It was $65.31 for TCJ/FP & $13.00 shipping UPS Ground.

***** N O T I C E ***** The recent anti gun movement has prompted many to notice and become vigilant to the NYS Gun laws pending in Albany. To confirm or dismiss any myths surrounding these issues, Anna H. contacted and scheduled a guest speaker for our June 13th Membership Meeting. Richard Kazmark, a lobbyist for gun rights in NYS, member of the Political Action Committee with fellow lobbyists will be present to speak and offer a PowerPoint Presentation “What’s going on in Albany” We may need to take this meeting outdoors, Do not miss it.

2010 Rifle Match dates have been confirmed and are posted in the new rifle schedule, the newsletter calendar and online at www.ncsaonline.org

Junior Rifle Training Program NCSA has provided a Junior Rifle Training Program on Saturday afternoons at 12:00 PM. The program will have its last class on May 1st. 2010 and will resume in the fall of 2010 on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 PM.

NCSA Shirts and Hats We have Niagara County Sportsmen's shirts and hats with the Club Logo on them and are available for purchase at the Club on both membership and directors meeting dates, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday mornings. See George Durkin to purchase your shirts and or hats. Polo shirts are priced at $10.00 each, T-Shirts are $7.00 each. For more information contact George at 298-5923  

NRA Membership/Renewal Join the N.R.A. or renew an N.R.A. membership, your one year N.R.A. dues or renewal fee of $35.00 is reduced to $25.00, you save $10.00. In return, N.C.S.A. receives a commission of $10.00 for new NRA members and $5.00 for any NRA renewal. There is  a “print it yourself” link on our home page at (www.ncsaonline.org) after printing and completing the form you can mail it in yourself to the address on the form, You can also secure both a form and an envelope that are available on the bulletin board at NCSA, and likewise mail it in yourself. N.C.S.A. Membership Renewals. Dues were due June 1^st.  For your convenience we had included a self addressed envelope with a renewal form in our April Newsletter mailing to renew your Membership. We again ask that you please return the renewal with proper payment to the address indicated on the form. Or, you can deposit it the collection box next to the sign in sheet (No cash please). A printable member renewal form is available on our website, www.ncsaonline.org, or you can obtain a renewal form left near the collection box at the club. If you are unable to acquire a form, mail your dues (Check or MO) to: Niagara County Sportsmen’s Assoc. P.O. Box 194, North Tonawanda New York 14120. Include Name, and Member number. Indoor Range Access Anyone wishing to use the indoor range must pay a yearly range fee of $20.00 and will need to attend a one time range orientation to become familiar with range equipment, range rules and ammo that can and cannot be used on our range. When completed, our access control will be programmed to allow you access to the Indoor Range. The orientation is routinely offered immediately after the conclusion of our membership meetings, scheduled at 2:00 PM on the second Sunday of each month, and at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday following the General Meetings. Indoor Range Renewal You may renew your Indoor Range access any time during the year. Your status from any previous year will be considered verification that you have had the required Indoor Range Orientation Briefing. If your Indoor Range access has been turned off it will be restored upon receipt of payment to the Membership Chairman. If you have other questions, please contact Mike at 695-0090

Membership Applications, We accept applications and provide orientation for new applicants at 12:00 PM sharp, on the day of and prior to our General Membership Meeting held on the second Sunday of each month. We also accept  applications and provide orientation at 7 PM sharp on the second Tuesday following our General Membership Meeting. Any exceptions to this schedule will be noted in our monthly calendar. Applicants must obtain a background check from their local Police or Sheriff's department, and must present it at the time of their membership orientation.

PLEASE NOTE: A valid New York State Pistol Permit can and will be accepted as your background check,

And you will also need to bring:
NOTE; A Personal Check or Money Order is preferred.
