Marty W’s 2004 Deer Hunting Season

After spending the best part of the 2004 opener, hunting in the town of

Belmont with his five companions, Mike, Butch, Nick, Jim and Rob with only

A big lunch to his credit and time running out, Marty looked at his watch,

It was 3:40, and from his tree stand he decided to checked the woods below and

around him. As he studied the surroundings he spotted a doe moving through

the woods, then he spotted a second one about 22 yards behind her,

it was not another doe, but a six-point buck following her.

Heart pounding, Marty raised his 12 ga. Shotgun, took careful aim,

fired and dropped the six point 135 pound buck.

We all thank Marty for the venison stew he brought to

the January 9th Meeting. It was delicious!
